The Brazilian ace made his desire to leave Paris public a few weeks ago.

Since joining PSG from Barcelona in 2017 for a world record transfer fee of €222m, Neymar’s big money move to the Parc de Princes has not gone according to plan. The Brazilian, despite being a stalwart at Barcelona, moved away from the Camp Nou in order to escape Lionel Messi’s spotlight. His move to Paris was supposed to be his opportunity to carve his identity and be the face of the team he plays for.

However, his ambitions were not matched in Paris. His old foes in injuries  came back to haunt him, his presence in the club never really sat down well with PSG fans. He wasn’t the club’s face either, with the arrival of Leo Messi, and the meteoric rise of Kylian Mbappe, the spotlight barely rested on him.

It must be mentioned that he saw some success at PSG, with winning the Ligue 1 tittle at his whim. However, with no European glory, none of the achievements did justice to the kind of talent and skills he possesses.

It appears that Neymar, who is 31 now has come to the realisation that if he wants to salvage the remaining years of his career, he must do it outside Paris.

Neymar made his desire to leave the club this summer public. After which it was reported that Neymar, along with another outgoing stalwart in Kylian Mbappe and Marco Verratti were out of PSG’s project and that the club was now keen on offloading them . Since then, Neymar has been strongly linked with a move back to Barca, however as of now, The Blaugranas have not made an official bid or communication for the striker.

It is reported that PSG are valuing him at around €60m. Neymar also received a bid from Saudi side Al-Hilal worth €80m a year. However, he rejected the offer as he was keen to return to Barcelona, albeit on a much-reduced wage at €15m a year.  Now, reports are suggesting that a second bid from Al-Hilal worth €100m a year has made him reconsider.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano put out a video stating that the second bid from Al-Hilal has captured Neymar’s attention. The Brazilian is seriously considering a move to Saudi Arabia and that “negotiations are moving ahead very fast and talks are very concrete”. All in all, there is a high possibility that he might go to Saudi because of the huge pay check and also because Barcelona are yet to register their official interest in him.

As far as PSG are concerned, they have publicly said that they will be moving in a new direction and will likely sell the striker once they receive a satisfying transfer bid.
