Al-Nassr's Anderson Talisca could miss AFC Champions League due to confederation rules

Only five foreign players are permitted to play
Anderson Talisca could be axed from Al-Nassr’s upcoming AFC Champions League campaign due to rules laid down by the Asian Confederation.
The rules say that only five foreign-born players are allowed in the competition. Al-Nassr signed Cristiano Ronaldo last season, and this season they strengthened the team with the additions of Sadio Mane, Fofana, Marcelo Brozovic and Alex Telles.
The addition of these big stars means that Brazilian Talisca might be dropped from their squad.
There are rumours that Al-Nassr are planning to end Talisca’s contract. Sport reported that due to this rule by the Asian Confederation, there might be a chance that the Brazilian is heading somewhere else.
However, the Saudi Pro League allows eight foreign players and he might end up staying with Al-Nassr.
The 29-year-old joined Al-Nassr in 2021 and has played in 52 Saudi Pro League games. He has been a prolific goalscorer for the Saudi side with 40 goals. Talisca featured in six AFC Champions League games in 2022-23 and scored a goal.

Talisca was recently linked with a move to Besiktas. The Turkish giants failed to sign the Brazilian. They were also interested in Sergio Ramos and released a statement about this transfer saga.
Besiktas’ statement after failing to add Anderson Talisca and Ramos:
“Anderson Talisca and Sergio Ramos, who possess qualities that every club, president, and coach would desire in their squad, have been on our club’s transfer agenda, given their significant standing in the world football market.
“In this regard, contacts have been made with both Anderson Talisca and his club, as well as with Sergio Ramos, who is a free agent.
“However, due to disagreements on financial matters, the negotiations have come to an end, always with the best interests of our club in mind.
“We respectfully present this information to the public and our supporters.”
