The survivor of the Munich air crash, Foulkes captained a depleted United in the aftermath of the tragedy and led the Reds to the 1958 FA Cup final. Foulkes, who passed away on November 25, 2013, made 688 appearances for the Reds, a total surpassed by only three men: his team-mate Sir Bobby Charlton, Paul Scholes, and the club’s record-holder Ryan Giggs.
An old-fashioned stopper who relished facing a bustling centre-forward, he provided so much solidity to the United rearguard that it was rare for Sir Matt Busby to omit him. Foulkes is fondly known for his happy knack of notching critical strikes.
3. Paul Scholes- 718 appearances
Paul Scholes made his full debut in the 1994–95 season; he spent 20 years with United as a player and registered 155 goals for the Red Devils through 718 appearances, helping them to 11 Premier League titles, three FA Cup wins, and two Champions League crowns.
Neat and compact, a misplaced Scholes pass was one of the rarest sights in football. His superb eye for goal and late runs from midfield also served his country on 66 occasions. Charlton left Manchester United at the end of the 1972–73 season, having scored 249 goals and set a club record of 758 appearances, a record that Ryan Giggs broke in the 2008 UEFA Champions League Final.

The Welsh wizard was a part of Manchester United’s 1992 FA Youth Cup-winning squad alongside David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, and Nicky Butt. This group of players went on to become known as the Class of ’92. As senior players, they led Manchester United through a dominant era of success under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson, most notably winning the English Premier League, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League in 1998–99.
Ryan Giggs holds the record for most appearances for Manchester United; he went on to play for 23 years and appeared in 963 games for the club between 1991 and 2014. He won every major trophy, including the Premier League a record 13 times and the Champions League twice.
