Arsenal 'open to selling' Emile Smith Rowe after Chelsea's interest

Rowe has barely played this season for Arsenal

Chelsea are thinking about making a last-minute move for Raphinha and Ferran Torres of Barcelona as well as Emile Smith Rowe of Arsenal. The Gunners are now willing to sell their academy product.

With the big-spending owner Todd Boehly, the Blues have made expenditures of almost £350 million this summer and about £900 million overall since his appointment in May 2022.

Even with all of these arrivals, the West London team still seems undermanned going forward. And before Friday’s transfer deadline, boss Mauricio Pochettino obviously wants to improve the offence.

Additionally, as stated in Monday’s Transfer Secrets article by Simon Jones of Mail Sport, Boehly, Pochettino, and the company are considering impending bids for Smith Rowe, Raphinha, and Torres.

Even if interest hasn’t really evolved, the Chelsea management is now talking about the trio of names.

Smith Rowe, 23, had a season marred by injuries in 2022–2023 and has yet to appear for the Gunners in the Premier League this season.

At the Nou Camp, Ferran Torres frequently serves as Robert Lewandowski’s reserve.

In the past few weeks, 16-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal has replaced former Leeds forward Raphinha from Brazil.

Meanwhile, Marc Cucurella’s exit from Stamford Bridge may be impacted by Ian Maatsen’s choice of a new deal.

Manchester United inquired on Saturday about loaning out Cucurella, but if the left-back position Maatsen, a Holland U21 international, doesn’t agree to a new contract, Chelsea could not be convinced.

The 21-year-old is being given a long-term contract but is unaware of its conditions and whether it is legitimate to sign it. West Ham, Borussia Dortmund, and Burnley are all interested in Maatsen and may match or provide greater conditions.

Maatsen has caught the attention of Mauricio Pochettino, and the team would like to release Cucurella at this time. Valentin Barco, a left-back for Boca Juniors, has also drawn interest from Chelsea, although Manchester City are predicted to prevail in that competition.
