Thomas Tuchel's Bayern eye Joao Palhinha for no 6 role
After signing Harry Kane the German club is looking for a number ‘6’
Bayern Munich have been looking to bolster their midfield for a while now and are targeting Fulham’s Joao Palhinha. They have been on the lookout for players who can give them flexible options in the middle of the pitch and someone who can partner up with Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.
It is being reported that Thomas Tuchel’s side has identified a player to occupy that position in Joao Palhinha, who is playing for Premier League side Fulham right now.
The 28-year-old has become a regular starter for Fulham since he made the move from Sporting CP to Fulham for €20 million. The addition of Palhinha to Bayern Munich will give Thomas Tuchel versatility in the midfield and allow Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goeretzka to go further up the pitch.

Palhinha occupying the number six position might allow Joshua Kimmich to play higher up the field, or Bayern could switch to a midfield three to accommodate both Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, according to Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, who believes Palhinha “would tick a lot of boxes” for the position.
It is also widely believed that giving up a chance to play for one of Europe’s top teams would be too hard to pass up for the Portuguese international. It is widely believed that Fulham will demand around €50m for the midfielder, whom they acquired for €20 million.
Although he has been at Fulham for just one season, Palhinha has become a regular starter for the Premier League club. He was first noticed while playing in Portugal for Sporting CP.
However, it must be noted that no official communication has been made by Bayern yet and that many other European clubs have also shown interest in the Portuguese.
