The English star is set to complete his medical before Bayern’s opening game

After Bayern Munich agreed to acquire their all-time goalscorer, a graduate of the Spurs system is expected to leave his hometown club and join the German team. Harry Kane chose to accept Bayern’s offer after learning that a deal had been reached between the two teams.

The 30-year-old was instructed not to travel while being transported to Stansted Airport this morning. He made a U-turn and is now waiting for approval to take off at a family residence close to the airport.

As Bayern prepares to play RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup, Tottenham is attempting to negotiate last-minute adjustments to the agreement with Bayern.

With add-ons, Bayern are prepared to offer Tottenham £86 million upfront for Harry Kane, setting a record price for the club. With only one year remaining on his contract and no sign that he will extend it, Spurs believed that agreeing to a transfer was the best-case situation.

On Sunday, August 13, Tottenham will play their first Premier League match of the year against Brentford.

Spurs had an unsuccessful campaign last year as they ended ninth and missed out on playing in Europe. Kane registered 30 Premier League goals during that time, and the team hasn’t won a trophy since 2008.

After scoring his debut goal in December 2011, Harry Kane made 435 appearances for Spurs and amassed 280 goals.

He is presently 48 goals shy of surpassing Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League scoring record with 213 goals in 320 games.

Although the Premier League club stated on Wednesday that they were eager to sell the 30-year-old and that the fundamentals looked to be agreed upon, it is believed that discussions are still ongoing on the precise financial terms.

Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, intended to guarantee 80% of the fee, with the other 20% made up of attainable incentives and add-ons to bring the total to over £110 million.
