Brennan Johnson is expected to move from Forest before the transfer window closes

As the summer transfer window is due to close in the next 24 hours, a few defining transfers remain to happen as teams are looking to pounce on any last chance to consolidate their squads before the transfer window closes.

A few interesting moves remain to be made by both Manchester United and Liverpool as both the rivals look to sign players to bolster up their midfield, with Ryan Gravenberch being a target for both the North-Western giants.

However, it looks like one of the most defining signings in the dying embers of the transfer window is set to be of Nottingham Forrest winger Brennan Johnson. The Welsh forward has been linked with a move for the last few weeks and has attracted interest from three clubs in England, namely Brentford, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.

Brentford earlier sent a bid valuing the winger at €44 million. However, it was outright rejected by Nottingham, indicating that they might demand a higher sum for the winger.  It looks like Nottingham’s hypothesis is coming true as it is being reported that Tottenham and Brentford are expected to go head-to-head against each other in the final moments of the transfer window.

After losing talisman Harry Kane to Bayern München, the London club has been on the lookout for a quality forward who can team up with new signing Richarlison and newly appointed captain Son Heung-Min in front of goal.

Brentford on the other hand have been interested in the winger since the transfer window started, and seeing his potential, would be hoping to increase his resale value in the coming seasons.

Tottenham’s interest in him also corresponds with Eric Dier facing an uncertain future at the club.
