The Frenchman is close to joining the Blues

Chelsea are close to signing Michael Olise and have reportedly activated the release clause of Crystal Palace’s forward.

The 21-year-old played for the French Under 21 team in the Euro U21 championship played in the summer. He went off injured and is still recovering.

Todd Boehly, the owner of Chelsea, has invested heavily since taking over the club. Yesterday, the Blues announced the signing of Brighton’s midfielder Moises Caicedo for a British record fee.

The Premier League side has spent over £900 million on transfers since the takeover.

Michael Olise has played 63 games in the Premier League and was involved in 20 goals. These include four goals and 16 assists.

The Eagles signed Olise from Reading in 2021 after making 67 appearances in the EFL Championship. Olise scored seven goals and provided four assists in the second division of England.

Olise is regarded as one of the biggest talents in world football. He has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world like Manchester City and PSG. It looks like Chelsea have beaten these clubs and will add him to their team.

The Blues added Nicolas Jackson, Axel Disasi, Christopher Nkunku, Lesly Ugochukwu, Angelo Gabriel and Robert Sanchez to their first team. Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Cesar Azpilicueta were the few big players to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Olise is a future prospect and this youngster promises a lot for the future. His technical abilities and skill on the ball are the reason why the Blues have activated his release clause.

Crystal Palace will look for his replacement. They began their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 win over Sheffield United.

Chelsea played a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. The Blues took time to settle and dominated the possession in most phases of the match.
