Chelsea to make '11th hour bid' for Moises Caicedo after Liverpool agree £110m deal

The Blues are prepared to outbid Liverpool for the midfielder
According to Guardian, Chelsea are set to outbid Liverpool to sign Moises Caicedo after Liverpool agree £110m deal to sign the midfielder.
Brighton confirmed Liverpool’s £110 million offer, and Liverpool aims to close the deal quickly to prevent a late coup. But it is believed that Chelsea have not given up on Caicedo, who is their top priority for the summer, and that they are prepared to offer more than £110 million to get the Ecuadorian international.
Chelsea had been a frontrunner for Caicedo, and on Thursday night they made a bid of up to £100 million. Liverpool, who had pushed its way into a contract for the 21-year-old before in the day, shocked them.

After Liverpool’s higher offer was accepted by Brighton, the transfer of Caicedo is expected to be finalised on Friday. However, the issue is far from done.
The environment is still unpredictable. Thursday night was the deadline for offers, and Brighton stated they would accept the highest one. Whether Chelsea has left it too late is uncertain.
Caicedo, along with one of his agents, were in London on Thursday, and it was reported that he supported a transfer to Stamford Bridge. The expectation has long been that Chelsea, who have been in negotiations with Brighton all summer, still remains in the race to sign the midfielder.
Moises Caicedo only wants to join Chelsea
It is also understood that the 21-year-old is having second thoughts about joining Liverpool which the Blues headway in personal terms but the Blues will have to make a better offer than the Reds to sign their top target.
Confirming the signing Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media and said: “I can confirm the deal with [Brighton] is agreed, whatever that means because we want the player and not any kind of agreement – we will see,” Liverpool’s manager. “
“We are club that doesn’t have endless resources, we didn’t expect a couple of things happening in the summer, like [Jordan] Henderson and Fabinho [leaving], stuff like this.
“We didn’t think about that before the summer, to be honest, and then it happened. We gave [attempting to sign Jude Bellingham] a go and the club was really stretched. We will see [what happens with Caicedo].”
