England announce squad for September international break

England set to face Ukraine and Scotland in their September games
The roster for England’s September friendlies against Scotland and Ukraine has been released, and Gareth Southgate has given two players the inaugural senior team call-ups.
Levi Colwill, a defensive player for Chelsea, has been chosen for the senior team for the first time shortly after capturing the U21 Euros in the summer.
Eddie Nketiah of Arsenal, who scored two goals through three games this season, could be among those set up for his Southgate team debut.
On Saturday, September 9, England will play Ukraine in their sixth Euro 2024 qualifying match. A victory would put England nine points ahead of Ukraine in Group C, albeit Italy remains with a match in head. The top two teams advance automatically to Euro 2024.

Southgate has also stayed with Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson despite calls to drop them. Early in the season, the former has had trouble getting playing time, and Henderson’s travel to Saudi Arabia raised questions about whether he may have given up his spot on England.
Raheem Sterling, a former fan favourite, has once again been left out by Southgate.
