Garcia has informed Xavi he wants to leave on loan

Eric Garcia, a defender for FC Barcelona, may join Girona FC on loan, but Xavi’s choice ultimately prevails.

The defender is aware that while he will play some minutes, he won’t be the starting centre-back with Ronald Araujo, Jules Koundé, Iigo Martnez, and Andreas Christensen.

Garcia, who replaced Christensen in the previous two LaLiga games, still has a part to play for the squad. He can take Oriol Romeu’s place in midfield as well.

If Xavi agrees, Barcelona would not be against loaning him to Girona, the source said.

It appears that it would go ahead if the head coach is okay with it because the player himself is thought to prefer the concept of a loan.

Garcia is rumoured to prefer Girona as his top choice should he decide to go, but all indications point to Xavi keeping him.

Although Xavi wishes to keep the defender at Barcelona, it appears that a deal between Girona and Eric Garcia may not go through.

According to Relevo, Garcia would be willing to move to Girona for the season because he knows he can play frequently there.

Despite being below Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Inigo Martinez, and Jules Kounde in the hierarchy of players, the article also states that Xavi truly does not want Eric to leave.

According to Diario Sport, Eric has honestly informed Xavi that he needs to transfer on loan in order to gain more playing time.

Another issue with Eric for Barcelona is that, even if he leaves, the club won’t actually benefit financially from his departure.

Girona centre-back Santi Bueno is anticipated to be sold, which would cause them to step up their pursuit of Eric.
