Joan Laporta ‘trying to convince' Xavi to sign Neymar on loan
Neymar might play for a new club in the summer
There are disagreements between Barcelona president Joan Laporta and manager Xavi regarding the possibility of bringing back Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
David Bernabeu Reverter of SPORT reports (via ManagingBarca) that Laporta will meet with Xavi soon to persuade him to sign the Brazilian.
From a footballing perspective, the Blaugrana manager doesn’t seem to be enthusiastic about the 31-year-old’s comeback.
Laporta will nonetheless let Xavi know that Neymar’s acquisition is a club decision rather than a decision related to sports. The head of the La Liga giants believes that signing the Brazil international will improve “the Barca brand.”
Lionel Messi declined to head back to Camp Nou due to Barcelona’s protracted financial difficulties, which is what led to the decision. This summer, the Argentine legend chose to join MLS team Inter Miami.

Neymar, Messi’s former PSG colleague, is eager to rejoin the Blaugrana, though. He left them in 2017 and transferred them for a record-breaking €222 million to the Parc des Princes.
With medical concerns and a tense relationship with the club’s supporters, the departed Barcelona attacker’s time with the Parisians has been anything but smooth. With each passing summer, speculation about his likely exit from the Ligue 1 winners has increased.
Neymar scored 18 goals and provided 17 assists in 29 appearances last season in all competitions. Before having an operation on his foot and sacrificing the season’s final weeks, he was in excellent form.
According to ESPN, PSG would demand between £60 and £70 million for the Brazilian. The deal he has at Parc des Princes has two more years to run.
The Brazilian forward is keen on being signed by a Saudi Pro League team and loaned to Barcelona. Numerous prominent figures from Europe, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and N’Golo Kante, have moved to the Middle East.
