Juventus ready to swap Vlahovic for Lukaku +cash deal from Chelsea

Both the strikers have struggled at their respective clubs

Chelsea have lost a couple of big names in Mason Mount and Kai Havertz this season. In terms of acquiring players, they have been on the lookout for a quality striker since the start of the transfer window, with certain deals looking like they were on the cusp of materialization. However, most of them stagnated at the last moment.

However, it looks like The Blues have finally worked out a deal with Juventus for center forward Dusan Vlahovic while offloading deadweight in Romelu Lukaku.

After Lukaku arrived at Chelsea at the end of his loan spell at Inter Milan, he was informed at the earliest that he was not part of future plans at Stamford bridge. This came after his woeful performance in the Champions League final where he failed to score a late equalizer from a position where success rate of strikers read 70%.

On the other hand, Dusan Vlahovic is touted as one of Europe’s most talented young center forwards. The 23 year old had a below average goalscoring campaign, netting 15 goals in 45 appearances. This is 15 less than his numbers last season. However, Chelsea manager Pochettino is confident that the talented youngster will come good at Stamford bridge.

The deal is set to materialize on the following terms, Juventus will demand €50m upfront from Chelsea for Vlahovic. However, they are comfortable letting him go for €40m + Lukaku. Chelsea are expected to begin much lower, however it is being reported that The Blues feel satisfied with the current terms as they get a talented center forward and an opportunity to offload deadweight in Lukaku.

Romelu Lukaku was himself embroiled in a transfer saga earlier in the window where he was joining rivals Juventus directly from Inter Milan.

However, it is reported that Lukaku has agreed on personal terms with Juventus and himself is looking forward to making the move.
