Kevin De Bruyne ruled out for 4 months; set to undergo surgery confirms Pep Guardiola

The midfielder is struggling with this injury since the Champions League final
The Manchester City team must determine whether or not star player Kevin De Bruyne will have surgery for a significant hamstring injury.
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has designated De Bruyne inactive for a period of time. Injuring his hamstring in City’s Premier League start against Burnley.
The Belgian midfielder disclosed that the team is debating whether they should suggest that the player have an operation to fix the issue.
“Kevin De Bruyne’s injury is serious one. He will be out for a few months,” Guardiola told a press conference before the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla.
“We have to decide in the next days on surgery but for sure we lose Kevin for some time. We will decide in the next days. Surgery is surgery – three or four months out. The injury for Kevin is a blow, a big loss. He has specific qualities. For a long time is really tough for us. We have to look forward. We have alternatives. Kevin is irreplaceable, but we have talented players. They will take it.”
De Bruyne failed to participate in any of City’s preseason games after fracturing his hamstring during the Champions League final.

He started against Burnley after coming off the bench in the Community Shield match against Arsenal. Guardiola acknowledged following that game that perhaps bringing him back to the lineup too soon was a mistake.
The seriousness of De Bruyne’s injury may increase City’s resolve to buy Lucas Paqueta from West Ham. The Hammers denied the club’s initial £70 million ($89m) approach, but they are anticipated to submit a second approach for the Brazil international.

The Belgian, though, began but only played for 23 minutes in City’s Premier League debut against Burnley last Friday.
The 32-year-old midfielder suffered an injury against Inter Milan in the Champions League final the previous season, and it now appears like City will be forced to live with being without him for some time.
