Kylian Mbappe makes Antoine Griezmann transfer recommendation to PSG
The Frenchman has €25M release clause
Kylian Mbappe has advised Paris Saint-Germain management to sign his compatriot Antoine Griezmann, who has a €25 million release clause. Mbappe, who is likely to remain at PSG, is now leaning towards extending his contract at the Ligue 1 club.
The 24-year-old told the Ligue 1 side that he is not willing to extend his contract, which is set to expire in 2024. This saw many clubs line up for his signing, as Saudi club Al-Hilal were ready to break the transfer record to sign the 2018 World Cup winner for a season.
Premier League sides such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal were also linked with a move, but the rumours were later quashed as it was obvious that if Mbappe decides to leave, his likely destination will be Real Madrid.
However, the Los Blancos have yet to make a bid for the former AS Monaco forward and are hoping to sign him for free next season, but PSG wants to recoup some profit from his departure after making him the second-most expensive signing when they acquired him from Monaco.
With Ousmane Dembele arriving at PSG, the 24-year-old has had a change of heart and could extend his contract, and now he has urged the club to sign another international teammate from Atletico Madrid.

PSG can get Griezmann for cheap due to his release clause, and both French internationals have great chemistry on the pitch.
According to a recent story from L’Equipe, Mbappe was instructed by Al-Khelaifi that he would not feature for the club again following his announcement to the team that he had no intention of exercising his renewed contract clause. This occurred during a meeting on August 8th.
In fact, it was said that the Frenchman intended to leave on his own terms the following summer, probably for Real Madrid.
The World Cup champion responded by claiming that Al-Khelaifi was the sole team president in football who was not going to use him, but it now seems that the scenario has shifted.
Mbappe was recently reinstated to the primary squad, allowing manager Luis Enrique to select him for this weekend’s match against Toulouse. It was previously claimed that Mbappe had told PSG he was ready to take on a substitute position as a means to push through a summer move in 2024.
