Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal in contention to receive Spain national team call up for September break

Yamal made his first start in a Barcelona shirt against Cadiz
Lamine Yamal may continue to make history as Spain are allegedly thinking about offering the Barcelona wonderkid his first senior call-up in the upcoming international break.
The 16-year-old might get picked up by Luis de la Fuente for Spain’s forthcoming international break when they are scheduled to play two Euro 2024 qualifiers against Georgia and Cyprus.
This is according to Mundo Deportivo. Yamal, who has already made it onto Barcelona’s first squad, continued his impressive preseason play against Cadiz in La Liga, making history by becoming the league’s youngest player to ever make an appearance.
Suspension for Raphinha has seen the teenager included in the first-team squad after his performance against Cadiz. It’s unlikely that Yamal will be sent back to the youth team.
Aged 16 years, 1 month, and 27 days, Yamal will surpass his colleague Gavi, who made his professional debut at 17 years and 62 days, as the youngest player ever to take part in a senior Spain international match if he receives a call-up by De La Fuente and manages an opportunity to play against Georgia on September 8.

Yamal’s exclusion from the Spain U-18 team by Jose Lana sparked rumours that he would be called up to the professional team.
As he was integrating with Barcelona’s first squad under Xavi Hernandez, it is thought that Lana decided to overlook him.
Yamal might possibly represent Morocco, as that is the country of his father. He was born in Spain, but considering that his mother is from Equatorial Guinea, he might also play for that nation.
After Munir made his Barcelona debut in 2014, the Spanish federation acted swiftly in his situation and gave him an international call-up to bind him to Spain. Abde Ezzalzouli was targeted for the same, but he elected to play for Morocco instead.
