The Reds are looking to sign another midfielder before the start of the Premier League season

Liverpool have gone head on into the summer transfer window to facilitate their midfield rebuild. Last season saw them lacking creativity and solidity in the midfield. Their midfield was even more hit when big names like captain Jordan Henderson, Fabhino, and Roberto Firminio decided to join the Saudi exodus.

Jurgen Klopp started his summer rebuild by signing two talented midfielders in RB Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai and Brighton’s World Cup winner in Alexis Mac Allister, for €70m and €30m respectively.

Despite signing two potentially very talented midfielders, The Reds still need more names in the middle of the pitch to achieve some form of solidity.

Liverpool have had Southampton’s 19-year-old midfielder Romeo Lavia for quite a while now. They have officially communicated their interest to Southampton and have sent them two offers.

The first offer was worth €34m, with Southampton rejecting it and stating their valuation of the midfielder to be at least €50m. The Merseysider’s second offer was worth €41m plus add ons. However, Southampton seem to be adamant on their valuation.

Southampton’s valuation of the midfielder is meant to increase even further as Liverpool are not the only team interested in him, with The Reds facing competition from fellow Premier League clubs Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.

With Romeo Lavia’s transfer still in the balance, Liverpool are said to have shifted their attention towards other options.

At the moment, they seem to be interested in Fluminense midfielder Andre. Playing in the Brazilian topflight, Andre had a breakout season and has been linked with a big move since the transfer window began.

At the moment, a transfer fee of around €20m is being reported.

However, it is unlikely that the move will happen this summer as the Brazilian transfer window closes on 2nd August, leaving Fluminense without time to find a replacement.
