Manchester City set to loan out Kalvin Phillips in order to revive his career

Liverpool are interested in signing the English midfielder
To help Kalvin Phillips put his career ‘back on track,’ Manchester City will loan him out this summer.
In the hopes that the Englishman can rehabilitate himself, the Treble champions believe they may play without him for an entire season.
While he continued to play at Leeds United, Liverpool have an interest in the Manchester City and England midfielder.
He was instead acquired by their Premier League rivals, Manchester City, and last summer he moved to the Etihad for £50 million.
Jurgen Klopp and company have had a difficult transfer window as they were unable to acquire Chelsea‘s Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, two midfield objectives.
The loss of Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson and fellow midfielder Fabinho has left the Reds in desperate need of some replacements.

Kalvin Phillips in Premier League
With 49 total Premier League games for the Yorkshire team, Phillips is a seasoned Premier League midfielder who helped Leeds finish ninth in their first season back in the top division.
Additionally, he played for England at Euro 2020, where the Three Lions advanced to the final, and the 2022 World Cup, where his nation reached the quarterfinals.
He has played 21 games overall and just 12 Premier League contests, so he has not experienced the same happiness at Man City.
14 games were missed because of his shoulder ailment. Phillips has sat on the bench for City’s first four matches this season, so there are no indications that he will force his way into Pep Guardiola’s starting lineup.
A comparable fate might strike Phillips, as it did Jack Grealish, who required a season to establish himself as a regular member of the squad. Phillips had hoped to stay at Manchester City and battle for his place in the squad.
But given that the 2024 European Championships are drawing near, it is sensible to expect that Phillips will desire regular playing time to establish his worthiness for an England call-up for the event.
