Manchester City reject Chelsea's £35M bid for young star Cole Palmer
The England U21 star is considered as the next big thing in the making
Although their summer splurge is set to keep happening, Chelsea are expected to begin negotiations with Manchester City about the transfer of young attacker Cole Palmer.
It is being reported that the treble winners have rejected a £35 million bid from the Blues.
Palmer, 21, scored in both the Community Shield and UEFA Super Cup finals this month, contributing significantly to City’s strong start to the season.
Palmer has reportedly been included in a list of promising young players that the Blues hope will bolster their assault before the transfer market closes on Friday, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Palmer, an England under-21 international who was born in Manchester, was forced to wait diligently for Pep Guardiola to give him playing time, but he recently showed the Spaniard that he was worth the wait by rewarding him with a man-of-the-match achievement and a goal against Sevilla in City’s Super Cup victory in Athens a fortnight ago.
Uncertainty surrounds whether City will consider bids for one of their most highly regarded young players, but Chelsea intends to make a full-court press for the wide forward over the next 48 hours.
They believe that the 21-year-old is the best option and are eager to start talking to him.

The Stamford Bridge team has made significant summer purchases, including Romeo Lavia for £55 million and Moises Caicedo for a British record of £115 million.
However, it seems like Mauricio Pochettino is still looking for offensive players, with the Manchester City player reported to be at the top of his list.
Palmer earned his Premier League start the next season after making his Man City bow in the 2020–21 campaign.
In 25 games across various tournaments this past season, he managed to score one goal.
He has appeared in three matches thus far this season, scoring goals in victories over Sevilla and Arsenal in the UEFA Super Cup and Community Shield, respectively.
Pep Guardiola has indicated before that he is unsure of the youngster’s status.
