Manchester United 'hold off' decision on Mason Greenwood re-joining the squad as they consult key stakeholders and women’s team

The young forward has been doing individual training
Manchester United have not yet made a decision regarding Mason Greenwood’s future due to ongoing consultations with important parties and a desire to involve the players from their women’s squad who are still competing in the World Cup.
The reality that three England players—Mary Earps, Ella Toone, and Katie Zelem—remain during the World Cup is a significant contributing element to the length of time. If England wins, they will advance to the weekend of August 19–20. They face their quarterfinal on Saturday.
Prior to Monday’s home Premier League match against Wolves, Manchester United had intended to announce the decision about Mason Greenwood’s future with the organisation.

However, it is clear that the executives value making the right choice more than meeting an arbitrary timetable. Prominent sponsors, the football division, and supporters—whose opinions are being collated through the fans’ advisory board—are among the stakeholders that United are evaluating.
Senior United officials are rumoured to be encouraging female players to participate in making choices. Aissatou Tounkara and Estelle Cascarino are competing for France, while Mary Earps, Ella Toone, and Katie Zelem are still representing England in the competition.
Before making a final choice, United’s management is eager to hear from big sponsors, the football department, and supporters. Since being terminated by United on full salary in January 2022, Mason Greenwood hasn’t taken part in a game.
The 21-year-old was accused of attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault resulting in actual bodily damage. He rejected the accusations, and in February of this year, the charges were dismissed.
As he gets ready to go back to the pitch, Greenwood was seen practising separately from the team. Whether his return to action occurs at Old Trafford or if he is compelled to play elsewhere is still up in the air.
Before the matchup against Wolves the following week, a number of supporters intend to demonstrate against Greenwood’s prospective comeback.
In the event that the teenager gets reintegrated into Erik ten Hag’s team, United officials reportedly discussed giving him a TV interview to explain the circumstances that led to his current predicament.
