Manchester United inform senior staff regarding Mason Greenwood's return to club
The Red Devils hierarchy have made decision to re-call the youngster to the team
According to The Athletic, Richard Arnold, the chief executive of Manchester United, informed the staff two weeks ago that Mason Greenwood would soon be coming back to the team.
Following the striker’s attempted sexual harm, and forceful control accusations were dismissed in February but the court saw United conduct an internal investigation regarding the forward incident.
Two weeks earlier, on August 4, Arnold reportedly notified United’s management group of the idea to reinstate Mason Greenwood, who has been sidelined since his arrest in January 2022.
As per Athletic, Arnold reportedly intended to film and distribute a video detailing Greenwood’s readmission with the men’s senior squad to employees and the broader public.

Arnold’s initial intention was for Greenwood to stay away from any appearances with the Manchester United Academy notwithstanding being recalled to Erik ten Hag’s starting lineup.
The Premier League club issued an announcement on Wednesday after first remaining silent on the matter for a number of months while conducting their own internal six-month investigation.
Collette Roche, the chief operational officer of United, spoke about the inquiry on Wednesday, calling it “detailed and thorough.”
After receiving the final agreement from their women’s squad, club sponsors, and supporter groups, Red Devils have taken a step towards welcoming Greenwood back.
After the expulsion of ‘important witnesses’ from the case, the Crown Prosecution Service declared in February that Greenwood would no longer face charges.
Manchester United promised to “conduct its own process before determining next steps” when the criminal investigation was concluded.
The Red Devils’ director of football John Murtough, Roche, the club’s legal counsel Patrick Stewart, their director of communications Ellie Norman, and Arnold oversaw the investigation.
Now the club could see the youngster return to the team which could send a bad message towards the fans and the female team after the set of supporters were against the reinstatement of Greenwood in the club.
This may also ruin the club’s image but now it remains to be seen when the Chief executive will make a public statement towards the 21-year-old reinvigorating in United.
