Manchester United takeover saga continues as 'multiple parties' continue talks with Glazers

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are the two front-runners
The Manchester United takeover saga continues as the Glazer family remains interested in selling the club. This takeover process has been ongoing since November 2022.
As the season approaches, there have been a lot of concerns everywhere in relation to the long-running takeover process which started last year.
According to Mail Sport, discussions are continuing with a number of groups with a view to a full sale or partial investment.
British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim are the two parties who have the upper hand over the others.
The Glazers are unpopular with a large section of Manchester United’s fanbase. since their leveraged, debt-burdening takeover at Old Trafford in 2005, will instead take one of the offers from other investment groups for a partial stake in the club. The sources have disclosed that discussions are taking place ‘with multiple parties’.
Mail Sport also disclosed that architects who have previously worked on a range of plans for such upgrades, which include the building of a new stadium, have not been asked to draft new, scaled-down proposals.

There has been a lot of frustration among both parties. However, this has not affected Erik ten hag’s transfer business. The Dutch manager had restrictions on spending in the summer due to FFP rules.
Earlier this week, United announced a 10-year extension to their partnership with kit makers Adidas worth a minimum of £900m, which is thought to be the biggest kit deal in Premier League history based on revenue per season.
Both Sir Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim lodged bids of value around £5 billion. While Sheikh Jassim’s offer is for a total buyout, the Ratcliffe proposal is for a staged takeover which would allow members of the Glazer family to retain their interest for a set period.
