eFootball by Konami is United’s official gaming partner.

Mason Greenwood has been added to Manchester United’s squad in eFootball for the first time since February 2022. Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 on charges of sexual assault and was suspended the following month from the Man United team.

Mason Greenwood remained completely missing in action last season following which all charges against him were dropped in February 2023. Since then, a debate has taken over the United Legion as to if he should make a comeback, and if so, should Man United retain him in the main squad, or should he be loaned out for the coming season.

Recent statements from Man United players and staff, including from manager Erik Ten Hag indicated that they were open to the proposal of him making a comeback and were even looking forward to it.

A source in Sun football revealed that “Mason Greenwood is training hard off the pitch and is looking forward to joining the Manchester United squad at the earliest”.

His inclusion in the eFootball database coming at such a time has raised speculations that he might join the main squad sooner than expected.

However, Manchester United have not come up with an official statement about his comeback yet.

Reports suggest that the management wants to consider a variety of opinions before deciding on his comeback.

A lot of stake holders, including sponsors, fans and most importantly, the Women’s team have to be considered before officially sanctioning his comeback.

A lot of Women Man United stars are away at the Women’s world cup. It is being reported that their unavailability for a long consultation on the matter is delaying the decision.

However, the Man United management has made it clear that they will not take any decision without consulting all parties.
