PSG activate Ousmane Dembele's 'private' release clause of €50m
The French star’s release clause is not valued at €100m
According to Fabrizio Romano, there is a new twist in Ousmane Dembele’s move to Paris Saint-Germain after the Ligue 1 club failed to trigger his €50m release clause which has now increased to €100m.
However, the club has activated his private release clause which is estimated to be €50m, and now the deal could be sealed by the end of the week.
Dembele, who is anticipated to return to Ligue 1 on a five-year deal, and the French powerhouses have reached a personal understanding.

The unconditional release provision, which was set to expire on July 31, was something PSG hoped to exploit. The French winger, who only has a single season left on his Barcelona deal, may now cost them more than €50 million.
After Barcelona’s latest exhibition victory against Real Madrid, Xavi talked about Ousmane Dembele’s future. The Spaniard asserted that the winger was content at the team but refrained from speculating about his future.
Since arriving at Camp Nou in 2017 in a €135 million trade from Borussia Dortmund, Dembele has experienced success and failure there.
He has accumulated 185 games across tournaments in six years with the club, but he has endured injuries the entire time.
Last summer, he was also anticipated to leave the team, but new manager Xavi persuaded him to stay. In 35 games across tournaments in the 2022–23 season, he paid back the faith by tallying eight goals and providing nine assists.
