Saudi FA and UEFA in talks to include Saudi Pro League clubs in Champions League

Saudi clubs have signed a number of top European players
The Arabs want to compete in the UEFA Champions League, the premier European club competition, according to rumours circling around the Arab Football Federation’s Riyadh headquarters and the offices of the head coaches of the most significant clubs in the nation.
Those directly under the stewardship of the monarchy and particularly the PIF, the nation’s Public Investment Fund.
The Arab Cup, which is held in the summer and was recently won by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, and the conventional Champions League d’Asia are two highly regarded international tournaments that the Saudis already participate in, but the sheikhs could have also aimed for the top tournament on the former continent.
The plan would be to put forth an extremely particular ask for UEFA: to be given a “wild card” to enter the new contests a formula in the 2024–25 season.

When the tournament’s structure will be revolutionised and it may be open to not only 36 groups but also to all of the teams in just one phase with eight matches per team.
The champion team of the Saudi Pro division, the best division in Arab football, would be given the additional spot.
Teams like Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli of Jeddah or Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal of Riyadh could be able to contend against the top teams of the old region, gain greater international prestige, and develop the expertise and abilities of clubs that are still developing from the perspective of corporate organisation.
A difficult decision that would unavoidably include not only the European Football Federation but also the Asian one and deprive a team of Europe of a spot.
Not just. It seems ironic that even some of the legendary premiers that the Champions League itself “lost” with their departure to Arabia can now shine once again during the event.
