Sofyan Amrabat is looking for an exit from Fiorentina after being linked with two of the biggest clubs in England. He has been in the limelight since the 2022 World Cup.

Fiorentina know that the player is on his way away from the club and have dropped him from their UEFA Conference League play-off encounter against Rapid Wien.

The Manchester Evening news reported, the midfielder, who has previously worked with manager Erik ten Hag at FC Utrecht, is out of contract at Fiorentina at the end of the 2023-24 season and is reportedly keen on sealing an exit from the Serie A club before the transfer window shuts next Friday evening. As well as being linked with United, he has also been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Amid mounting speculation concerning his future, he has been left out of the squad that has travelled to Austria for Thursday night’s Europa Conference League play-off first leg. The Italian side has named a 24-man squad list and he has not been included.

Amrabat’s agent earlier said, “Quite a few clubs are interested in Sofyan. “It is now a matter of making the right choice. He is still just a Fiorentina player and he reported to Fiorentina on Monday. If something interesting comes up, Sofyan is open to the step, Fiorentina are too.”

Manchester United and Liverpool will be eyeing a move for the midfielder. Both clubs need a player like Amrabat, who could control the pace of the game and offer more to their midfield.

The Reds have a completely new midfield after a few big names left and talents like Mac Allister and Szoboszlai joined. The Red Devils signed Mason Mount in the summer but need a midfielder who plays the holding role as well. With the player left out, these two clubs will look to compete for his transfer.
