These less popular players have the potential to score a lot of points for their FPL managers

A new season of the Premier League will also see the start of the 2023-24 campaign of the FPL. The trendy fantasy football game attracts millions of players from all corners of the world.

The FPL managers are already busy creating the ideal template from the available budget and getting ready for the long season ahead. They will be hoping to sign key differentials to aid them. Differentials are players that are not owned by a lot of FPL managers, and when they score a lot of points, it leads to their managers making huge climbs in terms of rankings.

As the new season of Fantasy Premier League gets closer, here is a look at the top 10 less-owned FPL players worth targeting in the 2023-24 campaign:

Morgan Gibbs-White – £6.0m

Morgan Gibbs-White is a regular starter for Nottingham Forest and has a low ownership of only 3.5%. He scored five goals and had 12 assists last season to accumulate 145 points. At such a low ownership percentage, the attacking midfielder is a brilliant differential choice.

Jarrod Bowen – £7.0m

West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen had a brilliant 2022–23 season with the Hammers, where he scored six goals and nine assists, accumulating 145 points. During the 2021–22 season, he scored 206 points. Despite such a track record, he is owned by only 5.5% of FPL managers.

Son Heung-min – £9.0m

Tottenham Hotspur are heading into a new era with Ange Postecoglou. Owned by only 5.0% of teams, Son Heung-min is shaping up to be an incredible differential. Considering his standards, last season was a disappointment, with only 10 goals and six assists. The FPL managers can bet on the South Korean to be a difference-maker in the upcoming season.

Brennan Johnson – £6.0m

Brennan Johnson of Nottingham Forest has an ownership of only 0.8% at the moment before the start of the new season. He scored eight goals and five assists last season, accumulating 122 points. The FPL managers can consider Johnson both as a differential and as a budget attacker.

Matty Cash – £4.5m

Aston Villa’s Matty Cash is showing good form heading into the season. He scored in a 3-3 draw with Brentford and aims to contribute to the attack, which makes him a delicious defensive option. The full-back has an ownership of only 4.9%, which makes him a sensational differential.

Luis Diaz – £7.5m

Liverpool FC’s Luis Diaz, at an ownership rate of 5.5%, is a fantastic less-owned option to consider. A long-term injury reduced his game time considerably last season, but the attacking winger looks ready to make an impact in the 2023–23 campaign for the Reds.

Alexander Isak – £7.5m

When it comes to strikers, Alexander Isak at 12.2% is a good differential option. Newcastle United have an important season ahead of it with UEFA Champions League football coming back to St.James’ Park. Fans of the club and FPL managers will hope that Isak can replicate his 10 goals and two assists from 17 starts in the 2022–23 season.

Mark Flekken – £4.5m

Mark Flekken is a new signing at Brentford from Freiburg and is set to be the first-choice goalkeeper at the club. At 3.7% ownership, the custodian is a good less-owned option. Furthermore, he costs only £4.5m, which makes him a brilliant low-budget FPL asset.

Diogo Dalot – £5.0m

Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot has a good differential with an ownership rate of only 2.0%. The right-back scored in a recent pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund and has the habit of involving himself in attacking moves down the flanks. He is worth £5.0 million, making him a budget option too.

Andrew Robertson – £6.5m

It is astonishing that Andrew Robertson, a player who has delivered more than 100 points consecutively for the last five seasons, is not a popular choice ahead of the 2023–24 season. It is particularly so because of LFC’s dismal defensive performance last term. However, the full-back, popular for providing assists, is an excellent differential with only 3.8% ownership.
