Top 10 transfer deals that can still go through this summer
Potential 10 summer transfer deals still in the pipeline
The 2023 summer transfer window was another transfer window that was action-packed, as several superstars changed clubs to explore new challenges. There have been some huge transfers with Jude Bellingham joining Real Madrid from Dortmund, Alexis Mac Allister moving to Liverpool from Brighton, Lionel Messi heading to Inter Miami from PSG, and Karim Benzema transferring to Saudi Arabian side, Al-Ittihad, from Real Madrid.
As we head to the end of the transfer window, clubs are working tirelessly behind the scenes, negotiating terms, player contracts, and fees, as they strive to secure the perfect additions to their squads. While some deals might be closer to fruition than others, football fans remains on edge, waiting for official announcements that could reshape the landscape of the clubs.
10 players that could be on the move before the transfer window ends are:
10. Florian Writz to Manchester City
The 20-year-old German midfielder is very keen to work with Guardiola, but a move for him would not be easy to pull off. Wirtz is one of the young gems of European football and he is versatile too. Following Kevin de Bruyne’s injury, which has sidelined him for five months, City are looking for a new attacking midfielder.
City won’t find it easy to sign Writz as he has four years left with Leverkusen, due to his versatility he can play as a right-winger and fill the place of Mahrez too. The treble winners are also exploring an option to sign Jeremey Doku to give them more stability in the attacking third.
9. Dusan Vlahovic to Chelsea
Dusan Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to further bolster his frontline despite having Nkunku and Jackson at front. Nkunku’s injury means Chelsea will look to have a proper experienced striker in the front line.
Vlahovic had a great 2022-23 season, he scored 10 goals and assisted 2 goals in the 27 matches that he played last season. This season, in Juventus’s first match, he already has a goal and a assist to his name which means he could prove to be a vital addition to Pochettino’s side.
8. Marco Verratti to Al-Ahli
The Italian was linked with Roma and Juventus but his telephonic conversation with Jose Mourinho over his high wage demands meant that he could never move to the Serie A. The versatile midfielder was initially approached by Al-Hilal, the same club that signed Neymar but Verratti has agreed personal terms with Al-Ahli and it is just a matter of days before he is officially announced by the club.
7. Dean Henderson to Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace’s number one goalkeeper Vicente Guaita refused to play in the pre-season, he lost his place to Sam Johnstone when Roy Hodgson was appointed to replace Vieira. Since then they have been on a lookout to sign a new goalkeeper and Manchester United’s number 2 choice goalkeeper is on the list of Crystal Palace. Despite Nottingham Forest’s interest in Henderson, Palace are looking to acquire him on loan with an option to buy, Johnstone and Henderson are close friends and can fight it out for a place in goal for the Eagles.

6. Romelu Lukaku to Juventus
Inter Milan are open to keeping Romelu Lukaku, but only on loan. Meanwhile, Chelsea don’t want to send the player out on loan again. The Nerazzurri have reinforced their attack with Marko Arnautovic from Bologna after securing the signature of Marcus Thuram on a free transfer.
Lukaku has agreed personal terms with Juventus but situation still remains uncertain as clubs from Saudi are also exploring him as option to sign. With just two weeks to go, one of the best strikers few years ago is without a club.
5. Joao Felix to Barcelona
Joao Felix continues to be linked with Barcelona after Simeone expressed that he is no longer in plans of Atletico Madrid. The Portugal international forward spent the second-half of last season on loan at Premier League side Chelsea, where he netted four goals through 20 appearances.
Not only Barcelona are looking to sign him but Erik ten Hag is very keen on bringing him to Manchester United as well. The 23-year-old youngster will look to re-establish himself in a club like Barcelona or Manchester United.
4. Clement Lenglet to Al-Nassr
The first to leave Barcelona as soon as possible could be Lenglet, the club did not register him and are not likely to register him until and unless it is necessary to sign him. Al-Nassr have not stopped pushing for Lenglet in the hope of convincing the player, this deal could help Barcelona as well because a lot of money will come from Saudi’s. Lenglet can join Laporte in Al-Nassr defense, Laporte was recently signed from Manchester City and their partnership, experience can help Al-Nassr win some trophies.
3. Joao Cancelo to Barcelona
With no future at Man City, Cancelo is in need to find a new club. He spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Bayern Munich after falling out with Pep Guardiola at Man City. The Bavarians had the option to buy him but they decided not to sign him. Cancelo, is keen to join Barcelona during the summer transfer window after a difficult 12 months at the reigning Premier League and Champions League holders.
Barcelona have enjoyed a productive summer in the transfer market, already bringing in former City captain Ilkay Gundogan, Oriol Romeu and Inigo Martinez on permanent deals. His addition can provide depth at the right flank for Xavi.
2. Sofyan Amrabat to Manchester United
Manchester United have been handed a huge boost to their hopes of signing Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina this summer, they can sign him on a bargain fee this summer. Casemiro has looked well off the pace during the opening two Premier League games and Erik ten Hag has a decision to make now.
Amrabat possesses everything United are lacking right now, he has energy, dynamism, athleticism, pace and power in abundance. He’s also excellent in possession and has the ability to control the tempo from the base of central midfield. He’s definitely made for Premier League with his tackling and aggressive approach to the game.
1. Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid
Mbappe is a free agent next summer, was just restored to the PSG first team and came off the bench to score from the spot in the 1-1 draw away to Toulouse. Mbappe and Madrid both want to make a move this summer, Real Madrid have announced that they will go all in for the Frenchman in the last couple of days of the transfer window and look to sign him this summer only rather than waiting for him till next summer transfer window. Mbappe and Madrid saga is one for ages and it’s upto everybody involved when will this saga finally get over.
