Tottenham reject Bayern Munich's €100m+ bid for Harry Kane
This was rumoured to be the final bid for Kane by the Bundesliga champions
Journalist David Ornstein claims that Tottenham Hotspur have rejected Bayern Munich’s most recent offer for Harry Kane. After offers in June and July were rejected, FC Bayern fell £25 million shy of Tottenham’s asking price. The better bid that was the result of talks last week has also been rejected now.
After presenting what they deemed to be a “fair and final offer” to acquire the striker, valued at in excess of €100m with add-ons, the German team was awaiting a response from Tottenham.
Bayern Munich believed the offer was a compromise. There was at least a £20 million valuation difference when the team’s officials met in London; Bayern’s offer on Friday further narrowed that difference.
The Bundesliga team needed an immediate reaction in order to move on to other targets. Their status is going to be evaluated, and their potential next step is unknown.
Harry Kane, who netted four goals in Sunday’s 5-1 friendly victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, needs the matter resolved this week before Tottenham plays Brentford in the season’s opening Premier League match on Sunday, August 13. The game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Though the 30-year-old intends to fly to Barcelona for Tuesday’s friendly match against the Spanish powerhouses, things might quickly change if there can be an agreement in discussions.
Kane has several reasons for wanting his future to be resolved right away, including personal ones. His wife can no longer go because she is scheduled to give birth in a few weeks.
Kane’s contract expires in the summer of 2019, so keeping him past the current transfer window runs the danger of losing an elite goalscorer for nothing the next summer, possibly to a Premier League competitor.
Harry Kane at Spurs
His debut for Spurs came in December 2011, and he has since scored 280 goals in 435 matches for the team. In the Premier League, he has notched 213 goals in 320 games, and he is presently 48 goals away from surpassing Alan Shearer’s milestone for most goals scored in a single season.
