Monaco striker Wissam Ben Yedder charged with rape, attempted rape, and sexual assault

The French striker and his brother have been charged with involvement in rape and assault
Following allegations made just recently, Wissam Ben Yedder of Monaco has reportedly been charged with rape, attempting to rape, and sexual misconduct, according to Nice-Matin and RMC Sport.
The charges have been validated by the Nice public prosecutor, and an official inquiry has been launched. According to Nice-Matin, Wissam Ben Yedder is currently detained and has a bail application of €900,000. He has also been placed under judicial surveillance.
Two women, aged 19 and 20, have accused Wissam Ben Yedder and their younger brother of taking part in alleged incidents that happened on the night of July 10 in the nearby town of Beausoleil.
According to the initial report from France Info, the accusations were made at a neighbourhood law enforcement agency in Cagnes-sur-Mer.

Prior to Monaco’s campaign opener against Clermont on Sunday, the French international and club captain attended practice this morning.
Prior to this afternoon’s revelation, newly appointed manager Adi Hütter had mentioned in his press conference that the striker will serve as captain and begin the game. According to RMC, the former attacker for Toulouse and Sevilla arrived before an investigating court morning in Nice.
He scored 18 goals in the inaugural campaign at the back, sharing the league’s scoring lead with Kylian Mbappe of PSG.
Prior to their Ligue 1 season opening with Clermont on Sunday, the footballer attended practice with Monaco on Friday.
He got placed on the reserve roster for the France team that won the World Cup in 2018.
Wissam Ben Yedder has netted 98 goals for Monaco after signing the French side in 2019. He had earlier played for Toulouse and Sevilla.
