Manchester United prioritising extending Facundo Pellistri's contract

The Uruguayan is under contract at Man United until June 2025

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United are prioritising renewing Facundo Pellistri's contract.

Facundo Pellistri made 10 starts for the first team last year and contributed one assist, but United have decided to keep him after Antony's time of absence,

Reporter Fabian Bertolini from Uruguay claims that the Red Devils will first extend Pellistri's contract.

Although United do have the potential of renewing its present deal by one additional year, it will come to an end in 2025.

However, this season has been primarily used as a substitute but his game-time might increase given United have fewer options on the wings now.

If United do sanction a loan then the transfers will give Facundo Pellistri access to European football, as Twente will play in the Europa Conference League and Betis will play in the Europa League.

Before coming back to Old Trafford last summer, Pellistri had spent 18 months on loan at the Spanish club Alaves.

United have been pondering an offer for the 21-year-old since March and has long planned to lock him down to a new contract. The team believes that Pellistri's next steps in growth are a new contract and a loan assignment.

Despite this, every time he has played, he has displayed indications of life. He distinguishes himself from the other attackers for United with his direct running and classic winger habits of getting to the byline and crossing.

If properly developed, United will be blessed with a legitimate player who can disturb opponents with his close supervision. Evidently, Ten Hag believes that returning to his former side is the greatest move for his growth.
