Punjab FC are yet to register a win in the ongoing ISL season.

ISL newbies Punjab FC will face Tata backed Jamshedpur FC in their fourth match of the Indian Super League 2023-24 season tomorrow. The match is set to take place at the JRD Tata Sports Complex and is scheduled to kick off at 8 PM.

This fixture marks the league's return after the international break. In their previous home game at New Delhi, Punjab FC secured their first point of the season, playing to a 1-1 draw against NorthEast United FC.

On the other hand, Jamshedpur FC will enter this match with confidence after a recent 1-0 victory against Hyderabad FC on their home turf. This encounter promises to be an exciting clash between the two teams as they will try to slot all three points in the game.

Punjab FC head Coach, Staikos Vergetis and midfielder Amarjit Singh Kiyam spoke to the media ahead of the game. Here are the excerpts

Thoughts on the Game

Staikos Vergetis, Punjab FC’s Greek head coach shared his thoughts on the game against Jamshedpur FC and quoted, “ The previous games and the results are history for us and we are only focused on the game tomorrow. We are playing against a side who play well at home and we know that the game is not going to be easy.”

He further went on and explained, “We have a plan for the game and I expect my players to stick to the plan and deliver a good result for us”.

Amarjit’s comments

Amarjit Singh Kiyam who captained India in the 2017 edition of the FIFA U-17 World accompanied the coach for the press conference. Amarjit is hopeful that his team will perform well despite the crowd support Jamshedpur FC is expected to receive.

“It is going to be a very important match for the team and we are going to put all our efforts into getting a victory out of the match. Jamshedpur is a strong team and we are expecting them to come all out against us in front of their home fans, but the team is ready for the challenge,” he said.
