New I-League logo launched; how different is it from previous one?
The new I-League season will witness two new corporate entries.
The 2023-24 I-League season starts on the 28th of October, and will witness a total of 13 teams compete their way into winning the I-League trophy and secure promotion to the ISL.
Ahead of the beginning of the new season, a new logo of I-League has been launched, where the same has been given a new refurbished look.
The new logo features the I-League trophy, embedded under a Hexagon, with the name of the league written below the Hexagon. The colour theme of the logo is pretty much the same as the last one, with a colour mixture of dark blue and orange being used.
What really makes the logo stand out is its sharpness and visual dexterity, which gives it a modern day look, as opposed to the old school look of the previous logo.
There has been a very positive response among the Indian football community, to this new and updated logo for the I-League, with many people appreciating the management for this fantastic work.
The dawn of a new season
The 2023-24 I-League season will feature a total of 13 teams, with Namdhari, Inter Kashi and Delhi FC amongst the three new entrants. It also welcomes back Shillong Lajong!
Last season’s I-League winners Punjab FC have been promoted to the ISL, whereas the bottom two sides - Kenkre and Sudeva Delhi were relegated at the end of last season.
The new season is set to start from Saturday, the 28th of October, with Real Kashmir and Rajasthan United playing it out in the opening match. Newly formed Inter Kashi will play their first-ever professional football game against Gokulam Kerala on the very same day.
Also, after the clubs requested to increase the maximum number of players allowed in a squad, the Committee has decided to increase the player quota from 30 to 35, with the clubs having to sign eight U-22 players as well.
