Indonesia fly past Brunei Darussalam to qualify for World Cup Qualifiers Round 2

Indonesia continued from where they had left off to beat Brunei Darussalam 6-0 in the second leg of their FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 1 tie on Monday.
Indonesia won 12-0 on aggregate as they advanced to Group F of Round 2, with Iraq, Vietnam and Philippines for company.
The onus was on Brunei Darussalam to attempt a comeback but Indonesia were quick to seize control at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium with Hokky Karaka giving them the lead in the sixth minute.
Indonesia continued to dictate terms but had to wait till the 42nd minute to double their advantage through Egy Maulana Vikri.
Brunei Darussalam's task became even tougher just before the half-time whistle, with Hokky netting Indonesia's third.
Witan Sulaeman made it 4-0 two minutes into the second half, converting from the penalty spot.
Indonesia's goal fest continued with Rizky Ridho netting their fifth in the 63rd minute and Ramadhan Sananta scoring in the first minute of stoppage time to complete the resounding win.
