The 22-year-old Mexican has already scored 15 goals in 10 games
Santiago Gimenez is one of the hottest properties in football and his club Feyenoord will demand a fee of around €100 million for their Mexican striker.
The 22-year-old Mexican has been linked heavily with a move to big clubs like Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to 90min, Feyenoord are confident star striker Santiago Gimenez will not leave during the January transfer window and have set a lofty asking price amid widespread interest in his services.
90min added Real Madrid have indeed been watching over Gimenez, but he is not considered a key target at this stage. Tottenham indeed also hold an interest in Gimenez, but they are not the only English club monitoring the Mexican. Arsenal and Chelsea have also watched him in recent weeks, though every major Premier League side has scouted him already this season and all have been impressed.
Inter have also kept tabs on Gimenez but are likely to be priced out of a move, and the general feeling across Europe is that Feyenoord's prohibitive asking price will determine that the striker's next club will be in England.
90min finally added that Feyenoord are reluctant seller though recognises every player has his price. In order to buy Gimenez, interested clubs will have to stump up an Eredivisie-record sum, which currently stands at the £87m (€100m) fee paid by Manchester United for Antony.
Santiago Gimenez joined the Dutch club in 2022 from Cruz Azul. He scored 23 goals in 46 games across all competitions and made a breakthrough in Europe. This season, the youngster is scoring at a rate of 1.5 goals per match in 10 games combined in the UEFA Champions League and Eredivisie. Jimenez netted two goals in his Champions League debut.
