With the ongoing troubles to win, The Hammers host Arsenal

The home side are somewhat in trouble. West Ham United are on a run of three consecutive defeats in all competitions. After earning a draw against Newcastle United, they were thrashed 4-1 by Aston Villa in the Premier League. Later a Europa League night visit to Olympiacos didn't prove any good either. Now as they are set to host Arsenal at the London Stadium, the Everton side also managed to take all three points back home.

Arsenal are now set to meet West Ham in an EFL Cup Round of 16 tie before they travel again to face Newcastle United at St James' Park for PL matchday 11. The Gunners faced Brentford in the EFL Cup Third Round. A narrow 1-0 margin win helped progress to Fourth Round affairs where they meet West Ham. The Hammers needed defensive midfielder Tomáš Souček to pull out a winner against Lincoln City from EFL League One.

Players to Watch

Mohammed Kudus (West Ham United)

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder is one of the interesting players from West Ham. Mohammed Kudus arrived in England to join the Hammers side this August. By now David Moyes has handed Kudus 7 PL appearances. After 12 games in all competitions for West Ham, Kudus has 5 goals to his name.

Eddie Nketiah (Arsenal)

Eddie Nketiah is in good form after his hat trick against Sheffield United in the last game. The 24-year-old London-born striker has 5 goals in 10 PL appearances. In the EFL Cup Third Round, an assist by Nketiah to Reiss Nelson stirred the result in their favour against Brentford.

Match Facts

  • The home side are on a run of three consecutive defeats and are winless in last four outings
  • The away team have lost just once in the entire season in all competitions. It was a 2-1 UEFA Champions League defeat to Ligue 1 side RC Lens.
  • Both sides narrowly won their EFL Cup Third Round affairs with a 1-0 win

Injury & Team News

Head Coach David Moyes may be troubled with the state of affairs at West Ham in terms of results. But Moyes reportedly has a fully fit squad at his disposal for this EFL Cup Fourth Round tie with Arsenal. The London Stadium should witness a few rotations after a 1-0 loss to Everton.

The Gunners are doing great in all competitions they are participating in this season. Long-term absentee Jurrien Timber is now accompanied by Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey. The latter two will need a few weeks to return. Mikel Arteta will be aware about their next Premier League fixture. Arsenal have to face Newcastle United and a few rotations shouldn't hurt their cause.

Arsenal wins – 72

Predicted Lineup

West Ham United predicted lineup (4-2-3-1):

Fabianski (GK); Kehrer, Mavropanos, Ogbonna, Emerson; Soucek, Fomals; Cornet, Kudus, Benrahma; Ings

Arsenal predicted lineup (4-3-3):

Ramsdale (GK); White, Tomiyasu, Gabriel, Kiwior; Vieira, Jorginho, Havertz; Nelson, Nketiah, Trossard

Match Prediction for West Ham vs Arsenal

The Hammers will seek a different result than what has been from their last four games. Moyes will hope for a win at home. But we know how the season is going for the Gunners. Even if Arteta rotates his squad, it will be a tough ask for West Ham to spoil the mood in the Gunners camp.

Prediction: West Ham United 1-2 Arsenal
