Game being postponed/rescheduled: The New Normal
The 2023-24 Indian Super League (ISL) has seen a lot of matches being postponed or rescheduled due to unavoidable circumstances. The caravan began with FC Goa’s clash against Hyderabad FC being postponed early in the season due to India’s 2023 Asian Games participation.
And then in October, East Bengal were forced to play their home against FC Goa in Bhubaneswar owing to administrative issues in Kolkata. After that, the iconic Kolkata derby between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal was also postponed owing to the same issues in the City of Joy.
The kick-off time in the game between Mumbai City FC and Hyderabad FC was also rescheduled from 5:30 PM IST to 8:00 PM IST. And not just that, Mohun Bagan's AFC Cup clash against Bangladeshi side Bashundhara Kings was also relocated to the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
