India will take on Qatar in their next FIFA World Cup qualifiers game on 21 November.

As per the most recent update, Sports18 will be broadcasting the home matches of the Indian football team in the second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

India's inaugural home match against Qatar will take place at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on November 21, 2023. Both the teams have already grabbed three points after their win in their respective first matches.

The Indian football team secured a triumph in their opening clash against Kuwait, while Qatar emerged victorious against Afghanistan. Despite Kuwait enjoying the home advantage in their encounter with India, the Blue Tigers displayed great determination throughout the game and emerged victorious with a 1-0 win, courtesy a goal from Manvir Singh in the 75th minute of play.

In the encounter between Qatar and Afghanistan, it was evident that Qatar held the position of favourites prior to the fixture. Their dominance on the field was apparent as they effortlessly scored eight goals, while Afghanistan managed to find the back of the net only once.

Both the table leaders will be competing against each other in the upcoming group stage match. Qatar possess the advantage of being a higher-ranked team compared to India, with a ranking of 61, while India have dropped to 102 in the latest FIFA rankings update.

No doubt, the presence of football enthusiasts in the state of Odisha, will provide a significant home advantage to the Indian team. The fans are expected to come in large numbers to show their support for the team and uplift their spirits, aiming for at least a draw if not a victory.
