The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 is starting within the next 24 hours in Indonesia. This will be the first time that this tournament will be held in a Southeast Asian country.

In 2023, the 19th edition of the U-17 World Cup is being held. This tournament takes place after two years and last took place in 2019 in Brazil. For the first time in history, there is a four-year gap between two tournaments.

Nigeria is the most successful team with five titles. Brazil are the defending champions and one FIFA U-17 World Cup behind them.

Which teams are playing in the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023?

Asia (AFC): Indonesia, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Uzbekistan

Africa (CAF): Burkina Faso, Mali, Morocco, Senegal

Central, North America and Caribbean (CONCACAF): Canada, Mexico, Panama, United States

South America (CONMEBOL): Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela

Oceania (OFC): New Caledonia, New Zealand

Europe (UEFA): England, France, Germany, Poland and Spain.

24 teams are set to compete for the upcoming U-17 World Cup. Host Indonesia will make their maiden appearance in the competition. Four other Asian countries will participate in the tournament. Japan is the most experienced of the lot and will appear for the 10th time in the tournament.

Record-title holders, Nigeria, fail to qualify from the African continent. They have four other representatives.

Defending champions Brazil will aim to win their fifth title and join Nigeria at the top for the most number of titles.
