Portuguese captain and striker Cristiano Ronaldo hopes to play in Euro 2024, therefore he has no intention of quitting football anytime soon.

After scoring twice in Portugal’s 3-2 triumph over Slovakia in the UEFA Euro Qualifiers, Ronaldo was back on the scoreboard against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Even though Ronaldo’s career is coming to an end, he still plays for the national team and scores important goals. Portugal’s place in the Euro 2024 finals is guaranteed thanks to his and his team’s heroics in the qualifiers.

“I hope I will be at Euro 2024 as there is still a lot of time left. I hope I won’t have any problem or injury, I hope to play,” Ronaldo told reporters as quoted from Goal.com.

“I left Portugal early but it will always be my home. They support me in every stadium in Portugal. The Portuguese must be congratulated too for the reception they gave us and this qualification is also theirs,” Ronaldo added.

Now, in a match that won’t mean much to them, Portugal will go to Bosnia for their Euro 2024 qualifier. When asked if he was still willing to travel, Ronaldo replied

“Of course, I will go to Bosnia but I don’t know what the coach will decide. I’m always available to help the national team and I love doing that and whatever the coach wants to do. All 24 players are ready to help.”

Portugal entered the game with a two-goal lead after the first half, but Slovakia’s goal in the 69th minute of play cut the gap in half.

In the seventieth minute of the match, Ronaldo doubled the lead with a brilliant assist from Bruno Fernandes. In the 80th minute of play, Stanislav Lobokta sent Slovakia a second goal through the net. Nevertheless, Portugal maintained composure and won the match 3-2.
