Manchester City break British transfer record to sign Leeds United prodigy Finley Gorman

City signing of Gorman will see them break British transfer record
Finley Gorman, a teenage player from Leeds, is expected to join Manchester City for a British record-breaking seven-figure fee to sign the 15-year-old.
Although the 15-year-old went through Elland Road's levels, it appears that an agreement has been reached between the Championship team and the Treble champions. Finley Gorman's fast ascent is evident in the record fee Leeds will receive for a player of his age.
The Athletic claims that while the agreement is not finalised, it is anticipated that the teenager will join Etihad. At the age of just 14, the youthful offensive midfielder debuted for the England under-16 team at the start of the season. At 14 years and 326 days, he also holds the distinction of being the youngest footballer ever to score twice in a Premier League under-18 match.
Finley Gorman continues to play on Leeds' schoolboy terms, and he will not be eligible to sign an official agreement until September 2025, when he turns 17.
In a move that reportedly cost about £1 million, City just signed 16-year-old Harrison Parker and 16-year-old Luca Fletcher from Reading and Manchester United, respectively, as part of their ongoing investment in their academy.
Archie Grey, one of the stars of the current first squad, is additionally susceptible to a move away from Leeds, where the academy continues to develop potential
The teenager has established himself as a mainstay for the Whites, who are launching a bid for promotion following their relegation. Since Daniel Farke arrived, Grey has benefited greatly from his consistent playing time as a flexible midfielder.
Everton, Crystal Palace, and Liverpool are a few teams that are interested in Grey. Leeds would want to pay at least £40 million for a kid who graduated from their system and is the great-nephew of legendary club member Eddie Grey if they were to cash in.
