PSG & Chelsea compete for Gabriel Moscardo's signing
The Blues had their initial offer turned down for Gabriel Moscardo
Chelsea might have made it easier for Paris Saint-Germain to sign Corinthians sensation Gabriel Moscardo in January by beating them to the deal.
The 18-year-old midfielder from Brazil has been connected to several elite European teams, and Mauricio Pochettino’s team is reportedly keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
The Brazil youth international appears to be the next big thing from South America to blow up in Europe, and Chelsea was rumoured to be in the lead to sign him.
Nevertheless, even if Todd Boehly and company contacted Corinthians regarding a possible January transfer, PSG might have gotten ahead of the Blues.
According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG will begin negotiations for Moscardo and is very interested in having him move to Paris. Luis Campos, the club’s head of recruitment, has been keeping a close eye on him for months as they try to sign him before other teams.

Despite rumours that they had a formal plan to sign the teenager, Chelsea is not currently planning to make an offer for Moscardo. The previous CEO of Corinthians, Duilo Monteiro Alves, stated that he might cost upwards of £30 million in January.
Moscardo himself admitted that a proposal did arrive from Chelsea previously. “There was a proposal from Chelsea months ago, but I talk a lot with my agent and my parents and they try to give me as little information as possible,” he said earlier this month.
“They say there is not long until the end of the season, they tell me to dedicate myself and do well, and that at the end of the season, there will be good things.”
Many people were likely surprised by Chelsea’s pursuit of the holding midfielder, given the team’s policy of acquiring the best young players available worldwide.
They have previously shattered the British trade mark twice, once with Enzo Fernandez and once with Moises Caicedo, by spending a staggering amount of money to recruit players who operate in the same area as Moscardo.
