The Blues are currently on 6 games winless run.

Bengaluru FC faced a crushing 4-0 defeat against Mumbai City FC in their 9th game of the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) season, leaving team owner Parth Jindal visibly disappointed and calling for immediate changes. The loss has pushed Bengaluru FC to the 9th position in the table with a mere 7 points from 9 games, a far cry from the club’s expectations and past performances.

In a tweet expressing his frustration, Jindal stated, “This isn’t @bengalurufc – changes are coming – we need to get back to where we belong – this is embarrassing. I’m sorry – this is beyond me – with this squad to play like this is not BFC.” The strong words reflect the gravity of the situation and the urgency with which the team’s management is likely to address the issues.

One of the major concerns for Bengaluru FC has been their performance on the field, especially given the significant investment made in foreign recruits. Keziah Veendrop, a recent addition from the Dutch top flight, and Curtis Man, with experience in the lower divisions of England, were expected to bolster the team’s capabilities. However, the recent string of poor performances suggests that integrating these foreign players into the squad has been challenging.

The match against Mumbai City FC saw El Khayati opening the scoring, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Left back Akash Mishra doubled the lead by the half-hour mark, leaving Bengaluru FC with an uphill battle. In the second half, Jorge Pererya Diaz and Lalianzuala Chhangte further extended the lead through well-taken penalties, sealing Bengaluru FC’s fate in the game.

Bengaluru FC’s struggles have raised questions not only about the team’s current form but also about the direction the club is heading. With a strong fan base and a history of success in Indian football, the expectations were high for Bengaluru FC this season. However, the reality on the pitch has been disappointing, prompting the owner to publicly acknowledge the embarrassment.
