Carles Cuadrat was satisfied with East Bengal earning a clean-sheet in the game.
East Bengal FC head coach Carles Cuadrat appreciated his side’s hard work in East Bengal FC’s 0-0 draw against Odisha FC in an Indian Super League (ISL) match at the Vivekananda Yubabharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Friday.
East Bengal FC made it difficult for Odisha FC to attack from the beginning of the game. They defended very well from the first minute of the game to stop Odisha FC from scoring. The Red and Gold Brigade even had chances of their own to score and get the three points.
Carles Cuadrat felt that his side provided a difficult challenge for Odisha FC throughout the game.
“We were fighting for the three points and the last minutes of the match showed that we were the ones pushing them (Odisha FC) back into their own box,” the head coach stated in the post-match press conference.
“Our players were putting in a lot of effort and they were following the match plan. We troubled them with some clear chances,” he further said.
“We were very close to getting the three points,” he added.
This game was the fourth consecutive clean sheet for East Bengal FC. They have conceded eight goals so far this season which is the third least goals conceded by a team so far this season.
Cuadrat was satisfied with his side’s clean sheet in the game.
“I am very happy with the clean sheet,” he said.
Souvik Chakrabarti played tirelessly in the midfield to block incoming Odisha FC attacks. His contribution was vital in East Bengal FC keeping a clean sheet in the game and Cuadrat also has the same opinion.
“Souvik Chakrabarti was doing fantastic work for us. He gave everything for the team,” he said.
Carles Cuadrat was delighted with the support that his team received from the fans.
“I am very happy to see how the supporters are cheering for us. They were waiting for us after the game to clap for us,” he said.
“They were cheering for us throughout the game,” he further said.
“I think they see some hope with the team. They see the players giving everything for the club,” he added.
