Borussia Dortmund considering hiring Erik ten Hag as their next manager

Erik ten Hag’s Man United job remains under fire after poor start to season
If Erik ten Hag is fired by Manchester United in the upcoming weeks, there may already be another position in the works. Borussia Dortmund considering hiring Erik ten Hag as their next manager.
Following Tuesday’s Champions League group-stage exit, which was the most recent setback in a catastrophic second season as manager, the Dutchman is under severe criticism. United finished last in Group A below FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray after suffering a dismal 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
With just six Champions League games played, Ten Hag’s team managed just four points, and their lone victory came via Andre Onana’s dramatic last-minute penalty save against Copenhagen.
However, a series of errors by the 27-year-old custodian led to eight points being lost from winning situations, making him heavily responsible for United’s early elimination.

United’s campaign in the Carabao Cup came to an end as they lost 3-0 against Newcastle United at home. They currently sit sixth in the Premier League, nine points behind rivals Liverpool.
Ten Hag has been protected by the club’s current turmoil while Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS wait for the ratification of their £1.3 billion agreement for a 25% interest.
However, after the 71-year-old businessman takes over sporting leadership from the Glazers, 12 defeats in 24 games this season might put the United manager in jeopardy.
If Sir Jim decides to appoint himself, Ten Hag would be the fifth manager fired since Sir Alex Ferguson’s 2013 retirement.
However, although his forebears took sabbaticals from the game following their time at Old Trafford, the Dutchman might jump right into a new task.
