Dimitri Payet to rejoin Marseille at end of his playing career

The Frenchman is currently playing for Brazilian club Vasco de Gama
The 36-year-old Dimitri Payet, who said an emotional goodbye to Olympique de Marseille in the summer, has disclosed that he will rejoin the team after his playing career is over.
Dimitri Payet has played for Marseille for eight seasons in his career. In that span, he made 326 appearances for the team, tallying 78 goals and registering 95 assists. But his employment with OM ended in the summer.
As a result, he relocated to Brazil; nonetheless, he plans to return to the Velodrome, as he informed La Provence. “I have a scheduled reintegration with the club.
That shouldn’t necessarily happen in 2025—that should happen when I stop playing. The former France international stated, “It will happen as late as possible, at the end of my career.”

During a heartfelt news conference, when he pledged to return and showed his love for the club, his departure was officially announced.
The former forward for West Ham United disclosed that although Marseille had allowed him to become part of the staff of coaches, he was not yet prepared to hang up his boots.
Even if Payet’s contract with Vasco de Gama ends in 2025, it is obvious that he intends to play one more season before returning to his beloved OM.
Dimitri Payet has virtually been forced to opt for an auxiliary role since arriving with Vasco da Gama; Dimitri Payet has made 16 appearances overall, but just six of them have been starts. with two goals and a helping hand.
