Enzo Fernandez eclipses Cristiano Ronaldo as most searched athlete in Portugal in 2023

Enzo Fernandez joined Chelsea in the last winter transfer window
Following a claim by Portuguese media outlet Maisfutebol, Chelsea player Enzo Fernandez has surpassed Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo to take the title of the most-searched player of 2023 in Portugal.
Ronaldo was the athlete who received the most searches on Google for the previous 25 years, according to a recent announcement by the search engine.
Most fans weren’t surprised by this because of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s big internet following. With more than 614 million followers on Instagram, he is now the famous person with the greatest number of followers.
Together with Lionel Messi, the Portugal star is also perhaps one of the all-time greats in football history. The 38-year-old is still going strong with Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League and has won 35 major titles in his illustrious career.
However, Enzo Fernandez surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo for some inquiries in 2023, based on the previously cited report that relied on Google’s statistics. The Argentine’s January move from Benfica to Chelsea, for a rumoured £106.8 million transfer fee, may be the primary cause.
