List of Premier League players set to compete at AFCON 2023
Ivory Coast will host AFCON 2023
The African Cup of Nations 2023 (AFCON 2023) will be hosted by Ivory Coast from 13 January 2024 until 11 February.
This means that some of the biggest names in the Premier League will miss league football and will represent their country in the continental competition. Some players might return after the group stage and others will continue playing until their team is knocked out.
The likes of Liverpool will lose their best player, Mohamed Salah, for at least 2-3 weeks. Manchester United will also be without their No. 1 choice in goal, Andre Onana.
Nottingham Forest will be the most affected team as nine players will be away on duty. West Ham United will also see some of their in-form players leaving for the competition.
