Mohamed Salah is the biggest name linked with a Saudi move

The Saudi Pro League clubs are targeting some of the biggest names in football. In the summer of 2023, there were quite a few big signings made by these Saudi clubs.

Now, the winter transfer window is just around the corner. Mohamed Salah is one of the most in-demand properties in Saudi Arabia.

According to famous journalist Fabrizio Romano, Salah’s former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard is looking for new players in the transfer window. The Englishman has told the board that he needs new players.

Romano said, “I’m not aware of specific names yet for Steven Gerrard at Al Ettifaq, but for sure it will be a busy January for them. There will be many signings and the number will depend on the opportunities. Gerrard told the board in a very clear way, both in private and public, that he needs new players.”

The transfer expert also commented on Mo Salah’s situation with the Saudi clubs. According to him, “Salah is fully focused on Liverpool as they’re flying in all competitions, but the Saudis still like him obviously and they still dream of Salah for their project. This is not something concrete for the January transfer window.”

Salah has long been coveted by the Saudi Pro League of course, and they’ll continue to push hard to bring in a player that could take the league to another level.

The Reds talisman spoke about the 2022-23 campaign not being good enough, and given the upheaval over the summer with multiple midfielders leaving and Liverpool missing out on major targets, few would’ve given Jurgen Klopp’s side a prayer in getting back into the title conversation.
