Tunisia have named their 27-man squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023). Ivory Coast will host the tournament and will start on 11 January.

Hannibal Mejbri of Manchester United is not a part of Tunisia’s squad in their 21st AFCON appearance. “Hannibal told me that he did not feel ready for the African Cup of Nations because he is going through an important situation at his club,” Kadri told a press conference.

Jalel Kadri’s side will be looking to win their first title since lifting it on home soil in 2004. The final squad include some new faces that missed the 2022 World Cup.

With veteran forward Wahbi Khazri retired, the legendary Youssef Msakni will lead the country in Cote d’Ivoire. He could clock 100 caps.

Tunisia are one of the most consistent sides in African football. In the 2022 edition, they knocked out favourites Nigeria in Cameroon. They are in Group E, along with Namibia, South Africa, and Mali.
